Tomb Raider actress Angelina Jolie has reportedly been caught up in a major data breach. The incident happened after a cybersecurity researcher discovered an exposed database linked to the Tribeca Festival.
Jolie was among many other A-list Hollywood stars whose contact details were included in hundreds of thousands of publicly accessible records.
Database Containing 666,369 Records Discovered Online
As reported by Hello!, cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered an unprotected database containing 666,369 records. The files reportedly spanned 2019 to 2026.
Apart from Angelina Jolie, the exposed records also contained many other famous faces, including Jennifer Lawrence, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Rami Malek, Eva Mendes, Michael J. Fox, Ron Howard, and Guillermo del Toro.
The researcher revealed that he came across the unsecured database during a standard search for exposed digital storage. Speaking to the publication, Fowler said, “I’ve been a security researcher for about 15 years and I’m always looking for exposed data.”
He also explained how he discovered the exposed data: “I’ve used a lot of different APIs and tools. This one I found using an IoT search engine, which is basically Google for websites but for connected devices like nanny cams, medical equipment or cloud storage databases.”
Details Revealed in the Leak
Most of the database contained promotional content, press kits, and marketing items. However, Fowler noted that a single backup file included a folder labeled “Contacts” with over 13,500 entries.
These records allegedly held names, physical addresses, phone numbers, and email accounts linked to top entertainment industry figures. The cybersecurity researcher also pointed out that not every entry listed private details; many belonged to publicists, managers, or assistants instead of the celebs themselves.
The Tribeca Festival also responded to the reports, as reported by Variety. They clarified that the leak did not reveal personal contact details. A spokesperson said, “None of the talent referenced in recent reporting had personal contact information disclosed.”

“The vast majority of the information consisted of public-facing business contact information, including PR representatives, talent representatives, front office email addresses, information from the Festival website, and other information that was already publicly available.”
The statement confirmed that all the exposed files were “removed promptly upon discovery”.
