Belmont Cameli shares his thoughts about returning to Off Campus following the Prime Video series’ global success this spring

The actor tells PEOPLE how he and the cast have zoned in on set amid the electrifying buzz around the show and its cast

Cameli portrays Garrett Graham opposite Ella Bright’s Hannah Wells in the screen adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s hockey romance novel Off-Campus

Belmont Cameli is experiencing his breakout moment, the momentum of which has not quite slowed down since the book-to-screen adaptation of Elle Kennedy’sOff-Campus debuted on Prime Video in May.

In the midst of it all, Cameli, who stars as Garrett Graham, is back in Vancouver, Canada, filming season 2 of Off Campus, the swoon-worthy rom-com that also stars Ella Bright, Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn. Even with the immense success the show has garnered, in addition to the global fame of its cast, Cameli, 28, says that it feels like nothing has changed as everyone returns to set.

Speaking with PEOPLE about his partnership with TRESemmé, the 28-year-old star says, “For me, and I think I can speak for the cast too, nothing is different. I think a big reason why the show has success is because we’ve protected the magic of it in season 1, and we’re really doing a great job of doing that.”

“It just feels like normal work and just the same as last summer,” Cameli adds, noting that everyone involved in the show “deeply” cares about and connects with the story they’re telling . “We’re having great conversations with our creators and our directors all the time about this new season, so it’s all very much the same.”

There is one thing that has slightly upped the pressure.

“Once in a while there are more fans where we’re shooting, but I try not to pay too much attention to that either because we have a job to do and that’s what we’re focused on,” Cameli says.

Though, “it’s easy to stay grounded because everybody’s cool,” he says, adding, “We’re all going through it together so it’s been a really sweet experience, honestly.”

Cameli also revealed that he doesn’t “spend a whole lot of time online, and that’s pretty intentional.”

Season 2 of Off Campus received an early renewal in February 2026, with showrunner Louisa Levy telling Variety, “All eight scripts are written and we have a very exciting plan for the season. I don’t want to say anything yet — but I think book fans will be very excited.”
