When Michael's son Caleb decided to perform in his school's talent show, he knew exactly what song he wanted to play.
In a video shared to TikTok, the 10-year-old could be seen walking up to the piano wearing a blow-up pink unicorn costume. As he bends down, Caleb adds a little spin before he begins to expertly play Chappell Roan's song "Pink Pony Club."
"Caleb did love that song right away. His mom initially loved it and then all the fam," Michael tells PEOPLE.

"We would play it in the house, and everyone would sing along. He then started practicing on the piano," he adds.
Caleb started playing piano when he was 7 years old and practices for 10 minutes a day, every day.
"He loves it. It helps him focus," explains Michael. "We have a wonderful piano teacher, Ms. Lori Stemmer. She teaches them how to read music, count and play the right way while learning really fun, great songs."
"His two brothers, 12 and 7, also play. Caleb can play AC/DC, Cream, Michael Jackson, Eminem and others," he says.

The proud dad says Caleb absolutely loves to be on stage.
"He did a dance for the 4th Grade talent show with a few friends. Right after that show, he said he wanted to do a solo show for 5th Grade," shares Michael.
When it came time to decide which song he'd play for the talent show, the dad of three says Caleb came up with the track and costume all by himself.
"He picked Pink Pony Club and his costume by himself. He thought it would be fun!" he says. "He actually wanted to sing it as well! He sounds great," explains Michael.

Looking ahead to the next talent show, Michael says he knows that Caleb will find something that makes them "all smile."
"He wants to continue to play and perform. Knowing Caleb, he will come up with something to make us all smile and enjoy life," he shares.
"He is a sweet boy who is full of positivity and brings fun energy to everything he does."
