- *The Boys* season 5 trailer reveals a first look at Jared Padalecki's *Supernatural* reunion with Jensen Ackles.

- The fifth and final season locks in a spring 2026 premiere date.

- The footage also reveals what happened to the Boys gang after getting nabbed by Homelander's supe police in season 4.

*The Boys* season 5 trailer arrives today like an atom bomb, bringing with it our first look at Jared Padalecki and the last batch of episodes at large.

The *Supernatural* reunion is just part of the hype surrounding the final season of the R-rated superhero satire. Details on Padalecki's role remain under wraps, but he pops up in a tracksuit, followed closely behind by Soldier Boy, who's played by his former onscreen cohort Jensen Ackles.

Misha Collins, another alum from the CW drama, will also join them, but his appearance remains elusive. And, of course, Eric Kripke, the creator of *Supernatural*, showruns *The Boys*.

Another scene involves someone exploding in front of Padalecki's character, drenching his clothes in blood.

*The Boys* footage dropped earlier at the CCXP fan convention in Brazil on Saturday and revealed the new season will have a two-episode premiere on Amazon's Prime Video on April 8, 2026. A weekly release will follow in the lead-up to the series finale on May 20.

A brand-new plot synopsis clues us in on where the gang has been since season 4. Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) are imprisoned in a "Freedom Camp," glimpsed in the trailer. "It's Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims," the description reads, referring to Antony Starr's villain.

At the start of season 5, Annie (Erin Moriarty) struggles to mount a resistance, while Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) is nowhere to be found. Butcher (Karl Urban), however, reappears with a plan to wipe every supe out of existence with the Godolkin virus.

"He sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it," the synopsis concludes. "It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen."

Going into this, we know that the *Gen V* season 2 finally bleeds directly over into the events of *The Boys* season 5.

"There's this active underground resistance led by Annie and A-Train to mount a real pushback against Homelander and Homelander's government," Kripke previously told **. "It's sort of Homelander's world and they're living in it, but there's like a French Resistance, as it were." He called Jaz Sinclair's Marie Moreau "important" in that regard.

Kripke and the cast are teasing the explosive endgame. "Hold onto your dicks and vaginas. ONE LAST TIME," the showrunner wrote on Instagram alongside a poster image showing Homelander watching from space as a nuclear explosion goes off.

"Very soon the last chapter will unfold. You’re not reaady," Starr wrote on social media.
