Kelly Slater‘s family officially got bigger!

The 54-year-old surf pro and his longtime girlfriend, Kalani Miller, 38, welcomed their second baby together, a girl named Azumi Moon, sharing the exciting news on Instagram on Thursday, July 30. In a joint post, the couple gave a small glimpse at their now 3-month-old baby girl and their family of four.

“Finding balance with our new addition. 3 months of Azumi Moon being with her brother Tao. ❤️” they captioned the post.

The surf legend and Miller first announced that they were expecting their second baby together in a joint Instagram post on Sunday, Feb. 22.

In the sweet black-and-white video, Miller showed off her baby bump in a bikini while standing on the beach with Slater and their son, Tao, whom the pair welcomed in 2024. Slater caressed Miller’s stomach before Tao ran over to touch his mom’s bump with his hands covered in sand.

“Baby girl arriving Spring 2026. 💕🐣,” they captioned the post, which was set to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.”

Back in March 2024, the pair revealed that they were expecting their first little one together. Slater and Miller announced the news in a similar joint Instagram Reel, both wearing swimsuits and holding hands as they walked toward the ocean for the black-and-white video.

Once in the water, the two embraced one another as the waves crashed at their feet. Miller’s baby bump was filmed in a close-up shot in which the waves lightly hit her exposed belly.

The post was accompanied by Ben Harper’s “The Three of Us.” Miller simply captioned the post, “🤍.”

Miller shared in a 2019 interview with Graham Bensinger how she and Slater met at the ASR trade show in San Diego, and whether they were considering growing their family.

She said, “At the time, me and my sisters were working for Roxy, which is the female counterpart of Quicksilver. And he was at the Quicksilver booth and he was in town for the contest at trestles.”

She added that Slater had been riding for Quiksilver for 23 years at that point, and although she had worked with the company “for years and years,” they “never crossed paths, never seen each other anything.”

“It was funny that far into it we see each other,” said Miller. “I remember exactly seeing him for the first time and like time really did stop.”

She continued to share that “hopefully,” one day, the two would welcome a child — or two — together. “I’m from a family of four. He’s from a family of three. Now when I see people traveling with four kids, I can’t imagine my family or anyone doing that. It’s crazy. I don’t know, maybe two or three,” she said.
